Partnering with Women’s Healthcare Providers to Meet the 2018 ACOG Recommendations for Postpartum Care
Set your practice apart by partnering with Proximity Telehealth to provide the gold standard of postpartum services to your clients. Let us manage the 4th Trimester for you!
Proximity Telehealth provides online specialty care services via live video chat appointments from a smartphone, tablet, or computer.
Your new mothers do not have to leave their homes or offices to get the care they need and deserve. This significantly reduces the cost and hassle of a traditional appointment and provides access to patients who do not live close to a specialist. Our services eliminate the added costs of driving to and from appointments, hiring of a babysitter, taking extra time off of work or exposing a newborn to a germ filled office.
Overview of Services
Everything is online from start to finish. A women’s health physical therapist meets with your new mothers 1-2 times per week for 6-12 weeks depending on the mothers individual needs which will be determined at the first visit. Our PT’s are pregnancy and postpartum specialists who provide individual treatment programs to support the return of pelvic floor and core function after birth as well as begin treatment for incontinence, prolapse, diastasis recti, and back pain that 40-70% of women struggle with postpartum.
Screening for Postpartum Complications and Anxiety/Depression
We know the United States is the only industrialized nation where death rates have risen 26% over the past 15 years for women after child birth. We specifically screen for red flags for physical conditions (infection, hemorrhage, embolism) and postpartum anxiety/depression and refer your patients back to you, to emergency service, or adjunct providers depending on the condition that presents itself.
Once a new mother becomes a patient with us, she will have access to our postpartum video library which includes education and exercises that are directly related to postpartum recovery along with a personalized video home exercise program after each visit.
Expanding Services in 2019
We are expanding our services in 2019 to include Board Certified Lactation Consultants, Registered Dietitians, and Postpartum Counselors. Patients are able to utilize all services through packages or a la carte as needs arise.
With the expansion of services we are able to address 6 of the 7 of the ACOG’s new recommendations added in 2018 for gold standard post-partum care.
• mood and emotional well-being
• infant care and feeding
• sleep and fatigue
• physical recovery from birth
• chronic disease management
• health maintenance
*We do not address birth spacing and contraception
Partnership with Proximity
With a partnership in place, your new mothers will receive discounted rates on packages and a la carte services. We interact closely with your office and will notify you immediately if red flags or medical complications arise and you will receive detailed reports from Proximity on your patients progress before their follow-up visits.
Increase your new mother’s safety and satisfaction, increase continuity of care and build trust as a women’s healthcare provider that knows that postpartum care does not stop after the delivery of the child.
At Proximity, we whole-heartedly agree with the opinions of the ACOG committee report author Dr. Alison Stuebe:
